The City of London provides a diverse range of local authority services for the benefit of City residents, businesses, and all those who visit or work in the Square Mile. From development control to trading standards, we are working to make a cleaner, safer, and more attractive place to live, work or run a business.
Beyond the Square Mile, City activities are by no means restricted to the City of London. With 2,000 flats and houses in surrounding boroughs, two markets in East London, a cemetery near Epping Forest and an animal reception centre at Heathrow, our services are uniquely far-reaching.
We are also the largest Port Health Authority in the UK, responsible for a district which extends for 150km along the Thames from Teddington to the outer Estuary.
